The first trees for the orchard were planted in 2010. The early years of the orchard were not always without any problems, but, for the first time, we now have been able to harvest oranges. A group of students visiting the school in Namwala this year further expanded the orchard. Together with students from Namwala, they planted 80 young banana trees. Those will already bear fruits within nine months. With the then grown trees, the rest of the orchard will be able to be planted, so that bananas can be harvested the whole year through.
