The crossing of the Kafue river

Every year in October the Shimunega ceremony takes place in Maala, in the Chieftum Mungaila. The farmers show their herds and many people, also from outside, watch. Because the animals are often in the plain of the Kafue River to graze, they have to cross the river for the ceremony. This is always an impressive spectacle. The video (facebook.com) was made by James Chenda who was in charge of the internet café of Namwala which was dissolved last year.
