Nach der Reparatur der Abwasserröhre in März gab es immer floss das Abwasser noch immer nicht gut ab. Darum entschieden wir, auch die neue Röhre in Betrieb zu nehmen, die bereits letztes Jahr für die alten WC- und Duschblöcke verlegt, aber noch nicht angeschlossen wurden. Da deren Anschluss Arbeiten innerhalb der Gebäude notwendig machte, beschlossen wir die Renovierung dieser Gebäude bereits jetzt durchzuführen. Nach der Inbetriebnahme der neuen Leitungen funktionierte die Abfluss vom Abwasser gut. Während der Feier am Montag, 29. Mai fand die Übergabe der renovierten Räume statt, und zwar in Anwesenheit einer Stellvertreterin der District Commissioner.

Bausupervisor Joseph Chipindi hat die Zwölfklässlerin Doris Mulenga (VIDEO) nach der Eröffnung der renovierten WC- und Duschanlagen befragt. Dazu soll man wissen, dass nach der Eröffnung der neue WC-und Duschblöcke in Februar, jedem Block zwei Schlafsäle zugewiesen wurden. Diese klare Zuordnung wird bestimmt das Sauberhalten der Anlagen vereinfachen. Offensichtlich gehörte Doris jedoch zu den Schülerinnen, die den damals noch nicht renovierten Blöcke zugeteilt bekamen. Jetzt freut sie sich, dass sie jetzt auch schöne Anlagen benützen darf.

I have read through the newsletter you are planning to publish. I must say I have no objection to the lay out and information being communicated. I want to believe that this newsletter will be stuck on the Namwalafriends official website for everyone to read and see what this great association has been doing to the school.
In your letter, you have raised quite key issues concerning the financial status of the school. I want to absolutely conquer with you. The financial situation of the school is now worsening by the day, especially that our request to increase the school fees has not yet been granted. We are therefore stuck with the K 1000 (CHF 100) as school fees, which might not even be enough for feeding the pupils.
The resolve by Namwalafriends to continue what I may call tedious journey of supporting the school cannot go without commendation. I must lament that you have been with the school through thin and thick and have supported us all the way.
When most people come to visit the school on different missions, official and personal, they cannot believe that the school is as old as 50 years. The glass pens remain intact, the sanitary conditions are superb, particularly with the upgrade of the sewer system, building of the new ablution block and now the renovation of the old ablution block. These visitors wonder how we manage to do all this. Thanks to Namwalafriends.
I have no doubt that most well-wishers who will have an opportunity to read this newsletter about these great works Namwalafriends have done at the institution, will be galvanised into action, take a leading role in supporting this noble cause.
